Ash Grunwald

Ash Grunwald is one of the most prolific bluesmen in Australian music history. He’s been at the forefront of the scene for more than 12 years, with nominations for six ARIA awards and three APRA awards, winning two of the latter. At the heart of his remarkable career to date, are nine studio albums, including his just-released NOW (produced by Nick Didia). Grunwald, is without question, an artist whose talents and achievements have gone from strength to strength, innovation to innovation, from country to country.

After returning from a massive tour of Canada including shows at the Winnipeg and Vancouver Folk Festivals alongside the likes of Wilco and Jose Gonzalez;  Grunwald recently toured throughout Australia and New Zealand with his Farmer FootDrum in solo shows.

“I love my Farmer FootDrum! I’ve used a million different stompbox, kick drum and trigger combos and Farmer is the best I’ve found to date. It’s really amazing playing rock because you have the excitement of real hi hats! The expressive nuances you get from playing with open or closed hats really does create great dynamics. It’s the closest thing to have a real drummer and I get asked about it every gig.”
