How It's Made
Pete Farmer has independently designed the FootDrum and all the internal parts since 2006. He builds every one to order in small batches in our workshop in Northern Michigan. Talk directly with him if you have questions about the design, want ideas or suggestions, or need help after you get your FootDrum. In general, we do not have extra FootDrums built and ready to ship. Each FootDrum is built for a specific customer and shipped as soon as it is finished.
How To Buy
We do not currently work with many dealers or retail stores, as our prices would have to go up significantly to cover a middle man – and we really value working directly with our customers! One of the only places to order a Farmer FootDrum is through this website.
Make your custom order online. You can pay in full and get on Pete’s build list immediately by shopping the 6, 9, or 12 Pedal FootDrum. If you’d rather make smaller payments over time, start by putting down a non-refundable $250 deposit and we will go from there. Payment plans can be set up on any schedule and amount that works for you.
The current wait is somewhere around 6-12 weeks, depending on the timing of other orders, our supply of parts from various vendors around the world, and other design and production needs.
Once we have your payment you will receive an email confirming your order with more information. You can talk directly to Pete about the design, questions, and ideas to get your dream setup.
Shipping Options
Domestic: We ship to all 50 states. You’ll be able to see USPS and FedEx options after loading up your shopping cart and entering your shipping address – and before paying anything.
International: We use USPS and FedEx to ship to nearly every country in the world. To see what the shipping will be for you, load up your shopping cart and enter in your shipping address. You’ll be able to see USPS and FedEx options and rates before paying.
Each country has different size and weight regulations and it can be hard for our website shipping calculator to figure it all out! Send us an email if you have any trouble or get an error message when placing your order. Also, we may be able to find a better shipping option than what is listed on our website and can work with you if you prefer a different method.
Please note that international shipments are subject to import taxes due to the destination country. Every country is different, check with your local customs or post office about the rules for you. Rates generally range from 5 – 20%.

Explore and Compare the Configurations
Every FootDrum uses the same four inner pedals to play the core drum kit sounds: hi hat cymbals, snare drum, and bass drum.
Additional pedals can be used to get secondary hits or to play added percussion instruments, such as jingles, tambourines, crash or splash cymbals, blocks, and more.
Farmer FootDrum 6 Pedal
(no drums)
From $2,350
The 6 Pedal sans Bass or Snare Drum (upgradable to 9 or 12). Ideal for those who have the DIY spirit or started with our Farmer UpBeat FD Set (18″ Bass & 12″ Snare).
Farmer FootDrum 6 Pedal
From $3,050
The 6 Pedal is ideal for those who know they want to focus on the core kit sounds: hi hats, snare, and bass. This is our most straightforward and lightweight setup. Upgradable up to a 12 Pedal.
Farmer FootDrum 9 Pedal
From $3,450
This configuration includes everything on the 6 Pedal plus 3 more pedals for playing stick and mountable percussion. The snare drag offers a more dynamic drum kit sound.
Farmer FootDrum 12 Pedal
From $3,850
The 12 Pedal allows for the greatest possibilities and playing flexibility. It adds three more pedals to the 9 Pedal and includes more hardware for mounting cymbals and more.
A Guide to Each Pedal
Below are the possible variations for each pedal. The default setup is by no means the “right” way, just the way that Pete prefers for a wide variety of playing options. These options are by no means the only way they can be played and are sometimes determined by the constraints of the particular setup.
